    Responsibilities

    As a member of the Enterprise Data Department, the Senior Data Architect will work as part of a fast-paced team. Responsibilities include development, implementation, and maintenance and support of data management processes, data quality and data governance programs, and frameworks. The Senior Data Architect will be responsible for the design and development of core data systems including data warehouses, data-driven analytics, and data-driven visualizations.

     

    The Enterprise Data Group directs a concerted data and information management program involving all areas of NISA. The core focus on data includes both the strategy and deployment in order to leverage NISA’s data assets most effectively; ultimately providing intelligence, insights, and information from data assets. This specialized group, with specific expertise in data management, is charged with designing data systems and providing leadership, authority, and oversight of data assets, flows and life-cycles. Topics of focus include: Data Governance, Reference, Meta & Master Data Management, Data Warehousing, Data Quality Management, Analytic Development, Data Modeling, Design, Analysis, Architecture, and Business Intelligence & Insights.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree required and preferred in a field requiring strong analytical and quantitative skills such as Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, or Information Systems.
    • Expert knowledge of database design, query optimization, and data analytics required.
    • Minimum five years of experience designing and developing SQL-based data warehouses and applications.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, both independently and within a team setting.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with close attention to detail.
    • Experience working with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau and SQL Reporting Services strongly preferred.
    • Working knowledge of financial instruments and markets required. Previous professional experience in financial services sector strongly preferred. CFA or other professional designation a plus.
    • Experience working with statistical packages such as MatLab, R, or Octave a plus.
    • Experience working with NoSQL database platforms a plus
